(for those on gluten-free or vegan diets)
2/3 cup uncooked brown rice
1/3 cup uncooked millet
Pour into blender and pulse until grains are cracked into small pieces.
4 cups of water
1/2 teaspoon salt
Bring water to a boil.
Add salt and cracked brown rice & millet mixture.
Simmer uncovered 45 minutes or until moisture is absorbed.
1 Tablespoon of butter (optional)
Maple Syrup to taste (also optional)
Stir in butter and maple syrup.
Divide into 2 large servings.
Serve with optional toppings:
Walnuts, toasted and chopped
Yogurt or soy yogurt
Milk or soy milk
Fruit such as raspberries, blueberries, or fresh peaches
