  • 2 tbsp Chinese five spice powder
  • 1 tbsp Kosher salt
  • 1 tsp pepper
  • chopped scallions


  1. Toss the above together in bowl with duck breasts
  2. Sear the duck breast in an appropriate large cast-iron skillet, meat side down first over medium high heat
  3. Turn when brown and cook on skin side side for 30 seconds
  4. Place in 400 degree oven for 5 minutes or until desired doneness is reached
  5. Let rest for five minutes before slicing
  6. Arrange on plate or platter and top with sauce
  7. Garnish dish with chopped scallions
