Ingredienti

  • 12+ slices day-old bread (french or rolls), cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 2 (8 ounce) packages cream cheese, cut into 1 inch cubes
  • 1.5 cup fresh blueberries
  • 12 eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup milk, 1/2 & 1/2 or cream (depending on how decadent you want this)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/3 - 1/2 cup blueberry syrup
  • 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 1-2 cups fresh blueberries
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • 1 tsp orange peel
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp ginger
  • 1/4 tsp ground cloves
  • turbinado sugar

Instructions

  1. Cover with foil over the plastic wrap and bake 45 minutes. Uncover and sprinkle with turbinado sugar and continue baking 25 to 30 minutes, until center is firm and surface is lightly browned and very puffy
  2. VARIATIONS: Mixed Berries, Strawberries, Blackberries, etc
  3. Lightly grease a 9x13 inch glass baking dish (pam).
  4. In a bowl, Mix the bread cubes, cream cheese cubes & blueberries until combined.
  5. Spread the mixture in the 9x13 glass dish.
  6. In a large bowl, mix the eggs, milk, vanilla extract, melted butter, sugar, cinnamon, ginger, and clove.
  7. Pour over the bread cubes.
  8. Drizzle syrup on top)
  9. Cover, with clear wrap and refrigerate overnight.
  10. Remove the dish from the refrigerator about 30 minutes before baking.
  11. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
