Czech Apple Strudel

  • 2/3 cup Margarine or Butter
  • 1 cup Warm Milk
  • 3 cups Sifted White Flour
  • 2 Eggs
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 4 1/2 cups Apples
  • 1 cup Sugar
  • 1 teaspoon Cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup Vanilla Wafers
  • 1/2 cup Raisins
  • 1/2 cup Pecans Chopped


  1. Combine butter, milk, flour, eggs and salt until dough is smooth. This makes enough dough for 4 strudels. Divide into 4 equal parts. Other ingredients are per strudel so when grocery shopping, buy accordingly.
  2. Roll each part of dough on pastry sheet until very thin. Brush with melted butter. Spread evenly with sliced apples. Sprinkle sugar, cinnamon, vanilla wafers, raisins and pecans.Drizzle a small amount of melted butter on top.
  3. Roll up like jelly roll onto a greased baking sheet. Brush top of strudel with melted butter. Bake for 1 hour at 350 degrees or until golden brown.
  4. Cut into 10 to 12 thin slices and serve.
