Baked French Toast from The Oliver Inn

  • 1 lb Loaf French Bread (cubed)
  • 1 8 oz. packaged cream cheese (cubed)
  • 8 eggs
  • 2 1/2 cups milk, light cream or Half and Half
  • 6 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup


  1. Spray baking dish with cooking spray. Arrange 1/2 of bread cubes in baking dish. Top with cream cheese cubes and remaining bread cubes. Combine next four ingredients.
  2. Pour egg mixture evenly over bread and cheese cubes. Press layers down to moisten. Cover with plastic and refrigerate overnight. Remove plastic wrap from baking dish.
  3. Bake, uncovered, at 350 degrees for 35-40 minutes or until center is set and edges slightly golden. Let stand about 10 minutes before serving. Served with maple syrup.
