Pecan French Toast with Cinnamon Raisin Bread

  • 6 eggs
  • 1 1/4 cups milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 6 slices Cinnamon Raisin Bread
  • 1/2 stick butter, softened
  • 1/3 cup pecans, chopped
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1 tablespoons light corn syrup
  • optional powdered sugar
  • optional orange slices


  1. Whisk together eggs, milk, vanilla, nutmeg and cinnamon. Place bread in a single layer in a buttered 9 X 13 inch baking dish. Pour egg mixture over bread. Cover and refrigerate overnight.
  2. Mix together all topping ingredients.
  3. The next day, preheat oven to 350 degrees. Uncover French toast and carefully spread topping over bread. Bake for 45 minutes. Sprinkle powdered sugar over each serving. Garnish with orange slices.
