Incomparable bed and breakfast

5 su novembre 10, 2017

This was my first time staying at a b&b but it was an unforgettable experience. Every room was thoughtfully decorated with vintage furniture by the thoughtful host Liz. Despite our delayed arrival, Liz stayed up past the check in time to give a tour and an explanation of the author themed rooms. In the morning, Liz personally served a homemade breakfast in her quaint dining area and even took the time to converse with the occupents. She was extremely helpful in recommending activities in addition to providing directions. I would highly recommend Alexander's house for anyone seeking a quiet weekend escape.

Delightful experience.

We only stayed 1 night but we were made to feel very welcome at this beautiful B&B. Very impressed with the décor of each themed room. Will most likely be returning to experience the house during a different season.

Wonderful Honeymoon

Warm, welcoming and a night to remember! From the cozy room and bath tub to the sherry to end the night (or begin it) my husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our time in Princess Anne and this lovely B&B. The night just wasn't long enough to take in the atmosphere! We are planning on keeping this B&B as our tradition!

Wonderful stay at Alexander House

We came to Maryland for our nephew's graduation and loved staying at Alexander House. Elizabeth was very welcoming, our room was delightful, breakfast was delicious and we enjoyed talking with the other guests. We are both avid readers so we particularly enjoyed all the book references and the themed rooms. PS - We tried to check off five stars but the site wouldn't permit???

We had a great time, this B and B added a nice new element to traditional B and B even if you are not a book liver is a great place.

Hostess made this a perfect stay!

Before heading to DC for a series of meetings, my wife and I wanted to explore the Delmarva peninsula. The first few days of our stay, we made trips to Assateague Island, enjoying the beach on the Atlantic side, and a great boat tour on the Chincoteague Island at the suggestion of our Hostess, Elizabeth. Since we are from Colorado, we especially counted on her knowledge of the local lore and high points for a short visit. Elizabeth was spot-on for dining suggestions as well. Then as we found time to visit, enjoyed her knowledge of literature as the rooms in the home suggest - Jane Austen, Langston Hughes, Robert Louis Stevenson., etc. One of the books must have covered breakfast recipes - all were great. If you are given the option, ask for the French Toast with the Apricot Compote - really a treat to start your day. Elizabeth not only shared her home, but her time in conversations with guests. Even at the first visit, she made us feel as welcome as a family member. We are sure to return for a visit just to enjoy the ambiance!

and very knowledgable about he area, giving great suggestions for places to visit, eat and discover.

We visited Assateague to see the wild ponies, kayaked on the Manokin River and discovered treasures in the shops in town. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Lee and Dan Paashaus

So Relaxing!

My husband and I stayed here for a 3-day weekend last year. The innkeeper was so friendly and helpful, the stay was so peaceful and relaxing. I was recuperating from an illness and found the literary theme and reading room so restful. We'll be staying there again.

Amazing and unique experience

The ambiance is wonderful, whimsical yet sophisticated. We loved our Jane Austen Room with all the little details that brought Jane to life. The Mark Twain Library has a great selection of books and a relaxing atmosphere. Elizabeth's breakfasts were marvelous, the crepes yummy! We also enjoyed the beautiful veranda, so private and colorful.

Elizabeth, My husband and I really enjoyed our recent stay at your B and B. The Jane Austen room was really nice and the town of Princess Anne is really quaint. Loved your porch and breakfast was super! Also super pizza at the Flying Crane.
