We stayed at the B&B during Christmas 2015. We wanted to see our granddaughter open her Christmas presents and this was a great place to stay while we were waiting for the grand event. It was so nice to be able to stay in a home setting and be served wonderful breakfast meals instead of having to stay at a chain hotel for Christmas. The owners made us feel very much at home and welcome.

We have stayed at this B&B 3 times on our way to/from Florida. The innkeepers, Diane and Harry, are like long lost friends. The home is beautiful and Diane, a former award winning interior designer, has turned this colonial into a walk back in time to different eras. There is an artistic blending of artifacts from Diane and Harry's travels. The use of screens and large painted wood panels adorn walls in the downstairs rooms. The leopard sofa with the 3 corner chair are main highlights of the family room as you walk in to the left, with a fireplace and antique curio cabinets filled with gorgeous china, glassware and figurines. You could spend hours looking at everything here and in the cabinets in the formal dining room. She has a doll museum on the first floor which she sometimes opens for display, many of the dolls being made by her. The modest artist/designer also is a talented painter. Ask her which ones were brushed by her hand. Harry has done a wonderful job restoring different parts of this home and built the columns and archway in the back where weddings take place. We love staying here and when we drive that route to Florida, we're sure to stay at this very nice B&B. Our spoiled pug, Lucy, is also welcome here in one guest room.

A gorgeous old mansion restored and beautifully decorated with an eclection collection of furnishings and art. Traditional antiques and Eastern collections made this a treasure trove to browse, in addition to the dollhouse, a complete room dedicated to Diane's talents in creating - Gracious, wonderful hosts. We stayed on our return trip home and want to stay again this Fall and next winter.

This B&B is the sweetest place. The owners are so sweet. The rooms are pretty. The house is amazing. You must try the afternoon tea. We had a tea party with my little girl and my grandmother, and it was perfect! You must stay here if your going to visit or just passing through!

Cookies waiting for us right next to our room upon arrival! Very cool that they have a mini fridge that you can use to store anything in, but it's also shared if anyone else is staying in the other two rooms, so keep that in mind as far as space goes. If you want your own private, beautiful balcony, the slightly more expensive Camellia Room is the way to go! (I personally wouldn't like that room due to the clawfoot tub with only the handheld shower hose the rinse off with.) Also great is that we needed somewhere to stay with our two dogs at, and they allow them in one of their three rooms for just $25 extra a night. We stayed in the Azalea room (the only one that allows dogs) and is was super quaint! Nice fireplace in the room, spacious windows, bathroom with separate toilet and shower/tub combination. The ground are beautiful with a lovely terrace/back garden, swimming pool (which was not ready yet) ) and a (somewhat beaten down) tennis court. Walking distance to downtown Walterboro. Diane, the owner, also collects old/antique dolls houses and barbies, and gave us a free tour of the room she displays them in before we left. One of the rooms she actually uses as an art studio for her paintings and whatnot, and showed us that as well. Cons: 1) Good, but not Great breakfasts. First morning we got omelets, bacon, yogurt, mini muffins, coffee and orange juice. Second morning we got VERY egg-y French toast, mini muffins, sausage, yogurt, coffee and orange juice. None of it was BAD, just not a large selection or large portions. 2) Minor annoyances to the guest room- what may not be major to some but were somewhat more major to me: No extra toilet paper besides the one on the roll, quite dusty in the room on cabinets, mantles, etc., and it took Forever to get hot water through the sink and shower....like, many, many minutes! I get it's an old house, but still.

I can't begin to describe the eloquence and style that this Bed and Breakfast conveys. All the decor is so lovely and inviting. You would just like to stay forever. Diane and Henry are the most gracious hosts and we felt so welcome. We stayed in The Camellia Room with the claw foot tub and a spacious balcony overlooking the pool. It was fabulous. I just don't know how they arranged for us to see two shooting stars as we gazed at the night sky! This trip had been a short respite from our daily working world and we certainly were able to relax and recharge. We will most definitely return. Thank you both, Diane and Henry. It was such a delight. - Kathy & Scott Hornbaker

This was my 4th stay for eight days at Hampton House during a business trip. It is not only geographically convenient to Charleston and Savannah, it is by far the most relaxing and hospitable B&B I've ever stayed at...and I've stayed at many along the Atlantic side! The plantation is breathtaking and so comfortable...you never want to leave. Diane and Henry are gracious and both are talented in seeing to your needs and in other areas such as arts and crafts. I learned this trip about the lighthouse Henry helped put together some years ago along Long Island, NY when he was a crane operator, and Diane is creating pencil drawings for an upcoming exhibit. It was too cold this trip to use the pool...darn, but as usual, it was another wonderful stay at Hampton House! I always stay in the Camellia Room...love that claw foot tub and the balcony view of live oaks. It just doesn't get any better.

I can not say enough about my stay at the Hampton House.. Diane & Henry are just a wonderful couple, they went beyond to make our stay a pleasant one. They are so hospitable that you can help but love the minute you meet them. They will do whatever is necessary to make your stay be a time you will remember forever. I been to quite a few B&B's but by far this one tops them all. It's the place to be whenever you need a break from it all. We truly enjoyed our stay at the Hampton House. Breakfast soooo good........ We will definitely go back. Diane & Henry, Thank you for making your place a place to call home away from home. Regards Mike & Patti R.

We travel from Ohio to Florida in Dec. This is our relaxing stop from I- I-95 10- 15 mins away... It is better staying at here... then motel or hotel... So clean and knowing you are safe!!! Hotel and Motels you don't know who stayed in room and heavy traffic coming through. Employees don't care at those places. To keep them clean. Henry and Diane put a lot of care to there home and GUESTS !!! They both enjoy what they do!!!! And I am return customer . I regret we bought a place in Florida... Hampton House , Walterboro, SC is better than Florida...
