Lost Forest is truly a great place to get away and enjoy amazing mountain surrounding just a little over 2 hour drive from D.C. We recommend eating any meal you can from the B&B's owners, they will accommodate your pickiest requests, and delight your tastebuds. We stayed in the Master Suite which was appointed comfortably with a fantastic tub, We enjoyed the drives in the mountains, and finding lost treasures at farmers markets, and other little holes in the wall. We can't wait for another opportunity to return.

We spend two nights here. It was our first time in West Virginia and the Lost Forest B&B was a great place to support our hikes at the Lost River State Park (which we also highly recommend). We were a bit off-season, so the trails at Lost River were empty. We had some very tasty breakfasts and one great home cooked dinner. As there are not many other places to eat nearby, it was a nice that we were able to request a dinner on our second night.

We stayed for a short weekend getaway with our 3 year old son. Rebecca and Grayson were very welcoming and made our son feel very welcome as well. They even played with him while my husband and I finished up our meals. The small farm they have was also a plus as they allowed him to feed the animals. Grayson is an excellent chef and I highly recommend including the dinner package with your stay since there is not a lot of restaurants near by.

The innkeepers at Lost Forest B&B were extremely welcoming and kind. They helped us plan our outings in the area and told us where the best places to eat and explore West Virginia were.

Lost Forest Bed and Breakfast was the perfect getaway location for our labor day weekend. It was clean, peaceful, and comfortable. The place was better than I expected from the pictures. I went with two of my friends and their baby. The innkeeper was an excellent host and made sure we had everything we needed. West Virginia is beautiful. Tips: - The innkeeper will offer internet service but try to go "unplugged" for a vacation from your devices. - Paying extra for dinner is well worth it. The innkeeper is a great cook and the home-cooked meals were tasty. - Don't plan to do a lot of activities. The location is great for relaxing and enjoying nature. There are fun board games and a variety of movies if you get bored. There is a state park close by if you want to do horseback riding, swimming, or other activities. - If you are coming from Washington, D.C., make a stop at Woodbine Farm Market.

My family and I stayed here for labor day weekend. I picked this place because I wanted to relax and get away from Northern Virginia. When I drove up to this place I thought it looked like a cute rustic cabin. However, when I went in, this place was all modern with an open floor plan. The upstairs hall acted as a loft to the dining room. The dining room, kitchen and living room were all opened up. There was recessed lighting everywhere, and the place was very clean. The living room was beautiful: large floor space, high ceilings, lots of windows, comfy couches, bar area with mini fridge, flat screen tv w/ surround sound, board games, and a telescope for night time star gazing. We stayed in the master bedroom. The bathroom had a large soaking tub, a separate shower, a his and hers sink, and all the amenities we needed. The bedroom and bathroom were decorated very well. There was a nice walk-in closet and everything was VERY clean. We paid for two dinners. Both dinners were good. The first night we had bbq chicken from the grill, fresh tomatoes from the garden with mozerella and balsamic, mashed potatoes, and cooked squash. The second night we had ground beef wrapped in cabbage covered in Marinara sauce with the same side dishes as the previous day. For breakfast we had bacon, sausage, eggs, toast, fruit, French toast, with coffee and orange juice. The Inn Keeper also baked complimentary cookies during the day for the guests, which were amazing. I recommend the food here. Activities: We did exactly what we came to do, and that is relax. We went on a short hike on the property, hungout on the porch with drinks, read, and played some of their board games. We played Risk for the first time: fun game, but very long. All-in-all, great vacation. I highly recommend this place.

Found this place to be a great place to get away and relax. Was hoping for some much needed R&R, but found so much more. The new innkeeper was a warm and friendly guy who catered to our needs. The meals were appealing and very filling. We loved the rural setting and the time to just enjoy nature. A quick ride to the Lost River State Park. BUT don't expect to use your cell phone. And your GPS may take you on some strange roads. Come prepared with a good old fashioned map & this will be a delightful getaway!!!

Signed up to stay here because lowest price, and will come back because it really is in a remote (but easy to get to) beautiful spot. It's actually inside the George Washington National forest. Step outside the B&B and in less than a block, you're in the forest. And its a remote part of it; hundreds of acres of land you can walk and not see any one else--just lots of wildlife. Good food and hospitality. A great B&B, but the forest, trails, mountains are the big plus.

As promised, a great place to stay to enjoy nature, but a short drive to Washington DC. Easy to find, but once there, only thing you see is forests and mountains and wildlife; very remote. Quiet, good nights sleep, great breakfast. Less expensive than a motel for a much better experience. Try to arrive in afternoon so time to go hiking in George Washington National Forest which is a block from the house.
Our loft room is outfitted with two closets, a Queen size bed, and a small, adjoining bedroom room with a twin bed suitable for children or other adult guest. The room shares a full bath with the other loft room on the second floor.
