My wife and I stayed at the WilloughVale Inn on March 2-4, 2018. We went there on a whim and had a fabulous time. Skip, the innkeeper, was enormously helpful in suggesting to us places to see and where we can dine. The Inn itself is beautiful inside and out. Skip made us feel at home as did the other workers at the Inn. Cindy was very sociable and shared many stories while we were at the bar. Our room was meticulously clean and we had a great view of Lake Willoughby. While we were there many people were ice fishing on the lake. An ice fishing tournament was the previous weekend. Very interesting. One day we took Skip’s recommendation and went to April’s Maple. It is a local industry producing fresh maple syrup and other products; all done on premises. Serge, the father of the owner, his daughter, gave us a tour of how the syrup is harvesting and then converted into the different products. There is also a café/restaurant attached that serves a variety of basic food at reasonable prices. It also seems to be a gathering place for snowmobilers that were very friendly and shared some stories. One night went to the GAP Pub & Grill. Yes, there are many locals there, but isn’t that what you travel for? The “locals” were friendly, service was great, food was fantastic and the prices very reasonable. Another night we went to Burke Publik House. Good food and service and a variety of beer, and a rustic atmosphere.

After checking in we almost drove through one of the cottages due to icy driveway conditions but narrowly avoided that! The cottage smelled a little funky when we first got there but it aired out over the day. We were also not made aware that the onsite dinning was only partially open....and I wanted more than a salad and soup! Other than that it was fine

This is our favorite hotel in Vermont! The location on Lake Willoughby is absolutely gorgeous and the rooms are cozy and comfortable, and the staff is always helpful and friendly. We always come in winter to ski at either Burke or Jay, so the dinner menu consists of entrees that have been flash frozen by the chef in Stowe. Based on the food quality, you'd never know it! Everything has been delicious!

Our stay was great and the staff was friendly. I booked our stay just off of one photo (we stayed in the Pisgah) so I wasn't completely sure what to expect. The cottage was awesome, fully furnished kitchen with dishes, pots and pans, oven, microwave, fridge, you name it! Hot tub filled up quick, never ran out of hot water! Views were absolutely amazing. Would love to spend more time on our next visit and explore a little more, but couldn't be happier with our stay.

Willoughvale Inn is a wonderful place to stay on gorgeous Lake Willoughby in Vermont's Northeast Kingdom. The rooms are amazing, spacious, and relaxing. Soaking tub was great. Needed better wood for fireplace - a small "complaint" that doesn't take away from an amazing experience!
